About the Role

Training Specialists are an integral part of the Uber Freight organization. This job requires working with lots of stakeholders and the ability to prioritize a wide range of projects at the same time. This job will involve virtual instructor-led training, program management, shadow coordination, front of the room training, webinar delivery, working with customer-facing and Tech groups, serving as an additional resource to teams and leaders, as well as some program design/revisions. For the first year this person will be almost exclusively focused on onboarding new hires into Uber Freight. This will mean executing, managing, and maintaining our onboarding programming.

The Uber Freight training team is responsible for the alignment and development of the Uber Freight organization. We deliver training to all levels of employees and work together to ensure all team members are empowered to do their jobs successfully. Our group consists of learning professionals with roles ranging from instructional design, to facilitation and content management. Our mission is to support a successful & empowered workforce through applicable learning experiences for all employees. What You'll Do

Deliver onboarding programming on an ongoing basis for technical new hires

Coordinate guest speaker and shadow sessions for new hires

Work with SMEs & Stakeholders to ensure content accuracy and hygiene

Work with new hire managers to source feedback on training, participation, and ensure attendance in trainings

Own all aspects of new hire onboarding, including working with leaders on timing and attendance lists, tracking, and reporting. This includes partnering with recruiting and strategic finance.

Partner with Uber Freight leaders to source speakers, maintain accurate information, and generate buy-in for onboarding across the business.

Build and deliver training in a variety of mediums (virtual instructor led, classroom, webinars, on the job training, pre-recorded videos, online resources).

Spend time while not training doing the following; learning the business & freight industry, monitoring team members strengths and gap areas, seeking new training delivery methodologies, earning certifications, providing on the spot coaching, and evaluating effectiveness of current training approaches, ad-hoc training support and cross certification within Freight training programs.

Leverage technology to maximize training impact and reliability. This includes leveraging Jira for all project related tracking.

Update curriculum on a regular basis to ensure consistency in business practices and to improve existing training.

Facilitate assessments and evaluations to measure impact of training and verify knowledge transfer, as well as employee happiness and engagement.

Work closely and collaboratively with leaders to ensure up to date SOPs & compliance are reflected in all trainings

Work closely and collaboratively with Instructional Designers to ensure consistent look and feel of training materials, as well as maximize effectiveness of delivery

Set the stage to the culture at Uber Freight- be champions of our brand through your ability to touch team members

Expect 70% of time to be spent delivering training or spending time on the floor coaching, 30% will be on program improvement, research, meetings, various responsibilities

Basic Qualifications

Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience

Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with ADDIE, Kirkpatrick's evaluation model, Maslow's hierarchy of needs, Bloom's Taxonomy, and other adult learning theories

Experience working with an LMS

Experience in the Freight/Logistics Industry

Strong facilitation skills, ability to connect with a wide variety of learners across various locations, positions, and experience levels

Experience with adult education & training or program management

Proven ability to effectively, efficiently, and accurately create trainings

Confidence in a variety of high-pressure settings, from meetings to training delivery

Experience working in a highly detail-oriented environment, demonstrating a high degree of diligence and accountability

Self motivation and ability to meet deadlines

Creativity in thinking about a bigger picture and how we can improve as a company

Ability to identify training requirement adjustments based on changing business environment

Proficiency in productivity tools (email, calendar), Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides)

Strong organizational and time management abilities

Flexibility to work cross functionally with other departments

Ability to multitask and prioritize, extremely organized

Ability to analyze successes and opportunities and make real-time adjustments to training plan in order to best meet the needs of new team members

Exceptional skills in Google Slides/Powerpoint development and presentation skills

Ability to communicate needs in a succinct and effective way

Willingness to give and receive feedback on a recurring basis
